Blue Bird Moving Services was originally founded in 1928. Hard work and dedication were the cornerstones on which we built this company. From a small, single-van moving company, Blue Bird Moving Services has now grown to become the area's most trusted transportation and relocation professionals. Some of our customers came to us in the early days, as they moved their families into new homes. They are now successful business people who depend upon Blue Bird Moving Services as their corporate relocation specialist. The level of trust that is built from homeowner to corporate executive, has been the mainstay of our continued success, and a testament to our commitment to customer service.

In the mid 1970's the current owner, Jim Furlong, worked as a driver helper part time, while also working other jobs and attending college. In late 1986 Jim returned to the industry to join Bill McKown, a current owner / partner, as a new partner in ownership. Together embarking on a campaign of growth they opened DBA's Blue Bird Records Management and Blue Bird Pack & Ship. Mr. McKown retired in 1996, leaving Jim at the helm.

In 1996 the company changed it's operating DBA to Blue Bird Moving Services. Jim wanted the customers to recognize that we are more than just a moving company. Today Blue Bird continues to offer many services and resides in mid Santa Cruz county. It's sporting a modern facility with the latest technologies, which includes a safe and secure truck yard for our equipment. The company's management style is friendly and informative.
